PC Game Controllers

Do you ever play games on your computer? Even with the advent of advanced gaming consoles, playing games on your home computer remains a popular options, whether they are modern, complex games, or older classic games that can be downloaded through various services. If you play such games, investing in a controller isn’t a bad idea.

It used to be that many of the controller options used more specialized ports that were large and bulky, but nowadays most of them run on Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports, which has made it easy to use them on laptops, or even other devices like current game consoles. This port style is labeled as “universal” for a reason, after all, and can be found on any computer, including both PCs and Macs. Various options and styles exist, from larger “joystick” controllers to more typical “gamepad” ones. These can come in lots of different styles also, and feature various numbers of buttons and control sticks. Some are even made to look like classic controllers from yesteryear! If you have some nostalgia for the Super Nintendo system, for instance, you can find a controller that is virtually identical in look and feel for your computer gaming needs.

Of course, depending on which games you play, you will want to scope out your exact options and see what works best for you. Some guys actually might play better with the mouse, particularly many shooters and internet-based games, and in fact many of the latter won’t work with anything other than your mouse and keys. If you enjoy simple internet games like Farmville, for instance, it’s doubtful that you’ll be able to do much with a USB controller! With that said, there are many affordable options, even at less than ten dollars, that will work great with the games they are appropriate for, so make sure you do a little research and find something comfortable that works for you.
