What exactly can you describe as a visual communication? Is it the technologies or the techniques used for communication purpose? Or is it the gadgets that are used? This would include the texts, messages, or anything that indicates the use of electronics to give a message to the people through visual aid. Perhaps one of the most common used electronic aids would be the emoticons. These can convey your feelings to the person you are communicating with much more effectively than text messages. Visual communications is a whole wide field in itself. There are a lot of things to learn and know in it, with the factors mentioned above only a brief and simple introduction to the vast filed.
